Noreen Charlton bridges the gap between two decades of forensic investigation and the future of autonomous public safety technology. Currently leading public safety strategy at Skydio, she focuses on advancing Drone as First Responder (DFR) programs that fundamentally change how agencies respond to emergencies. By centering her work on faster, more informed aerial intelligence, she helps agencies protect both their officers and the communities they serve.

Her perspective is rooted in over a decade of field experience as a Senior Crime Scene Analyst with the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department. Having responded to nearly 4,000 incidents—including the Route 91 Harvest Festival mass casualty event and over 100 homicide investigations—Noreen has led the reconstruction of some of the most high-profile incidents in the country. This work at the intersection of tragedy and accountability earned her the 2018 FBI Biometric Identification Award and established her as a recognized expert witness in both State and Federal courts.

Before her leadership in the drone industry, Noreen spent several years at FARO Technologies, where she empowered thousands of global public safety professionals to adopt 3D laser scanning for forensic reconstruction. This evolution from ground-level documentation to aerial autonomy reflects her career-long commitment to modernizing public safety operations.

Beyond her corporate strategy, Noreen is a sought-after forensic consultant and media contributor. She was recently featured as an expert analyst on the television series The Death Investigator and serves on the American Academy of Forensic Sciences Standards Board for Crime Scene Investigations, contributing to the national standards that govern the future of the profession.
